Lord Jesus told the Samaritan woman by the well of Jacob, " God is Spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth." (Jn 4:24). Christianity is a religion of the spirit. The first reference to the Holy Spirit in Acts.Ch.2 is 'Rushing Mighty Wind' that filled the upper room. The apostles were guided by the Holy Spirit in all their ministry of the Lord's Kingdom. The Bible talks about FOUR WINDS.
The four fold wind of the Lord must blow on our souls and sanctify the spirits of all the people who belong to the church of Jesus and name the Name of Christ today. The four fold wind of the Lord's Spirit "cleanses, delivers, clarifies and vivifies" us to spread the aroma of Christ to the world, through our lives.
1. East wind of destruction : Gen. 41:6 Heads of corn got blighted in the times of Pharaoh. Ezek. 17:10 East wind withered the vineyards and dried them up. Exo. 10:13 Locusts plagued Egypt. 14:21 Red Sea divided and rolled back sinking Pharaoh 's chariots . Psalm 48:7 Ships of Tarshish were broken by the East wind. Unholy matters in us need such cleansing.
2. West wind of deliverance : Exodus 10:19 Locusts were driven away by a West wind. Lk. 12:54 Jesus noted that it brings showers. Total deliverance comes by God's west wind.
3. North wind of clearing : Job 37:9 North wind brings clear and cloudless skies. Ice and cold marks it. 'Hallowed communion' with God, brought by the Spirit of God is represented by the North wind.
4. South wind of pleasantness : South wind vivifies the whole being. Job 37: 17 The earth is quietened and hushed by this wind. Songs 4:16 Wafts the fragrance and the spies flow out of the garden of our lives.
May the Holy Spirit of Christ blow on the children of God from all four directions to enrich us each day.
